Crew at camp have just called with the following information.
Going West on I-10 exit Bullard, follow South until it becomes Estrella Parkway, turn left and follow directions to the Park. (Disclaimer please check a map before you leave)
We have had a number of questions about purchasing Camp Digalus T-Shirts.
This evening the Trading Post will be open to fulfill online orders.
When that is finished there will be small quantities of Camp Digalus t-shirts and and kerchiefs for sale.
Available for the first time this year will be a “I survived the Dirty Derby T-Shirt”.
The trading post will also have a number of other souvenirs including multicolored light sticks, patches ans pirate coins.
Camp Digalus is only hours away.
Here is some last minute information.
1. We understand that there could be some road closures near the Park tomorrow. If we get details we will post them on the web site.
2. Make sure everyone in your party has a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water.
3. The weather forecast indicates that there could be some showers Saturday. Be prepared. Black trash sacks make acceptable emergency rain ponchos.
4. Dens need plenty of spirit, a Den cheer and a Den flag.

Registration for 2010 is now closed.
We are now going to start the work of preparing the competitions, camp site assignments etc.
Everyone who has registered should check their emails daily for camp information.
Can you believe it Camp Digalus is only 20 days away. There is still time to register but the fee is due to increase by $5 on the 1st February.
Don’t worry if you can’t camp, just come out for the day and join
us in celebrating 100 years of Boy Scouts of America.
For those of you who decide to come out for the day, please add a
note in the special needs to say you are coming out for the day
and we will work with you to refund the camping fee.
As in previous years you can register individually, as a Den or
as a Pack. So if you have someone who is unsure about registering,
go ahead and register your group and you can always add to your
registration later. That way the group does not have to pay the
additional $5 if you register late.
Perhaps we at Troop 30 can be a little bit biased towards Camp Digalus.

The organizers of Camp Digalus are often asked to describe what the camp is like. All of them will tell about the fun that the boys have in competing and demonstrating their Scouting skills. They will tell you about the helicopter that landed, about the huge camp fires, the Storm Troopers and the Dirty Derby.

I just received this information from the Dirty Derby Czar. The rules for Dirty Derby 2010 are as follows
1. 4 inches at its widest, including the wheels and their axel hardware. Six inches high and eighteen inches long.
2. Weight not to exceed 12 pounds.
3. Minimum of four wheels, must touch the racing surface.
4. No fuels or explosives. Only allowable propellant is gravity.
5. All wood exterior required except for the wheels.
6. The Dirty Derby Czar has the final word on what is acceptable during the check in process.
